Creamy Tomato Chicken and Brown Rice

Made this for dinner tonight and was not sure how it would come out but it was YUMMMMMMYYY!  Thought I would share the recipe.  Sorry I didn't think about good pics until after we ate.  I will get better picture next time I make it.

Creamy tomato chicken and rice

Rice
3 T butter
1 1/3 cup brown rice
3 cup water

Chicken and cream

3 tsp olive oil
3 chicken breasts cut into 1 inch cubes
1 t Italian seasonings
1 T garlic
1 ½ t sea salt
1 t pepper
(Feel free to add your favorite spices to your personal taste)
A pinch of red pepper flakes to taste
½ red onion chopped
¼ cup white wine
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can sweet corn
2 T flour
¼ cream
¼- ½ cup chopped cilantro

Cook rice according to directions.

Add oil and brown chicken over medium heat.  Season chicken while browning for about 5-8 min.  Add chopped onion and allow to sweat for about 2-3 min.  Stir in wine to de glaze the bottom of the pan.  Stir in drained corn and tomatoes.  Quickly stir in flour and reduce heat to low.  Lastly stir in cream and simmer on low for about 30 min covered.

Once slightly thickened pour over rice in a serving dish and top with desired amount of cilantro.
For an extra kick my husband like to add a little Tapatio hot sauce.   Enjoy!!!!

Crochet Doily Rug Tutorial

Love this style rug!

Start of my doily rug!  This rug works up really fast!

I used this Pattern with some minor changes to make it a full 36 inches in diameter (see below) and found the Cotton rope here, although after doing some more looking I found it for much cheaper on ebay.
The rope is called Cotton welt cord.
The hook size is S

I am going to get some dye and most likely die this dark brown, I have young children and cannot see whit lasting very long!  I found this original tutorial on The Craftytortoise  blog and wanted to share my changes.

After the last row on the pattern followed I sc 1, Dc 4 on ch 3 sp, *sc next 2 sp, dc 4 on ch 3 sc* repeat ** all the way around, end with 1 sc next to first sc at the start, ss to end and fasten off.

To weave in the end tail I used the hook to pull the tail under and through about 8 stitches, then wrapped it around the back of 1 st and pulled it back through the same 8 stitches again, just wanted to be sure it was not going to come loose.

I am selling the finished product on my ETSY

I hope this was of some help

Homemade chocolate cotton candy!

My finished Chocolate dragons beard cotton candy!

After candy was made this was puck...

I had to heat in the microwave for 10-20 sec slowly to make it soft enough
After two times pulling and dipping in coco, corn powder mixture
LOTS of pulling

Starting to resemble hair

got so thin it was breaking

The recipe I used was
2.5 C. Sugar
1/4 C. Corn syrup
1/2 tsp. Vinegar
1 1/4 C. water
Heat to 260 F or 133 C
Do not stir while boiling

I poured my mixture into six soft cup cake molds so they would pop out easy, but you can use any soft plastic container that you can bend to release the puck.
Here is the link to the video tutorial I used:
http://lifehacker.com/5706253/create-old-fashioned-cotton-candy-right-in-your-kitchen

The pictures are from my third puck, I broke my first 2...
I suggest getting the candy soft enough to be easily pliable but not to melted.  And always dip in powder!!!
Good luck :)
