  2. Thank you for sharing this! I made it last night, it's adorable! I did want to let you know I think I found a mistake. Where you note "Row 17-21" it should be "Row 17-20" (to end with a dc row), then all the row numbers after that would be 1 less, for a total of 26 rows.

  4. Love this pattern and wanted to thank you for sharing. I do have a question about row 14. Is row 14 supposed to be dc or sc? It starts out dc 2 together and then goes to sc and sc last 2 together.
Again I want to thank you for sharing.

  10. I was wondering what you suggest to make this for 12 month size? I figure it's in the chaining, but since I have no idea how long to make the chain, I'm sort of at a loss. Thank you!

    1. Sorry took me so long to get back to you, what I would do is take one of the childes diapers and chain out the initial number to match as long as the diaper, when the flaps are open. Then follow the pattern as far as whether to sc, dc or triple crochet. you will want to keep the pattern for reference on how much to increase and decrease, but mostly you will be following the size of your child's regular diaper.

If this seems to confusing please let me know and I will try to come up with the pattern asap.

My other suggestion is if you just increase the number of the initial ch, remember to also increase the length to make it bigger in all directions.

    6. In row 24 -25, why do we put two dc/sc in one stich? Thank you

      Delete
    7. Last few rows are increases so it fits around the legs. That's why you put two stitches in one.

    8. Sweetpea the numbers on the fillowing rows are incorrect.
Row 12: dc2tog, dc 1 in next 20, dc2tog, ch 1 turn (26 st)EXAMOLE: dc2 tog, dc 1 in next 20, dc2 tog cu 1 turn this makes 22 stitches not 26 and would leave 4 stitches not used. Same in the next several rows.
      Row 13: sc2tog, sc 1 in next 18, sc2tog, ch 3 turn (24 st)
      Row 14: dc2tog, dc 1 in next 16, dc2tog, ch 1 turn (22 st)
      Row 15: sc2tog, sc 1 in next 14, sc2tog, ch 3 turn (20 st)
      Row 16: dc2tog, dc 1 in next 12, dc2tog, ch1 turn (18 st)

  27. Hi,
Thank you so much for the pattern. I have just finished making one for my first grandchild due in August. It looks really tiny, but its been a while since I've seen a diaper. Anyway, my question is; Do you happen to have the dimensions of the cover when its open?
    Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  28. can I ask what size buttons you used?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have to ask a question that sounds silly. at the beginning of row 10 you say to DC2TOG then dc next 20. Where does the turning chain factor in? I've tried this a few ways now and I either don't have enough stitches remaining to do the final dc2tog or my rows are lopsided since only the far side is getting the decrease. so I guess my question is really how do you decrease a double using the turning chain? If that's what's meant to be done... thanks!!

    ReplyDelete

    1. If im picturing your question correctly, you would make your chain-yarn over and insert hook in the same space-then insert hook in the next space and continue with the dc2tg. Im not the best teacher so you can also google "dc2tg" and learn the few ways there are to do it and find the one that works best for you. Hope it was of some help.

    3. Jessica Roby, youre question is not silly. Emily Adams, im sorry girl but your answer doesnt make any sense either. According to your answer, ill have my hook in 2 holes at once and you just cant do it. You forgot yo tell us what to donafter inserting the hook in the first hole before inserting in the second. Its not a bpcd. Can someone please shed some light on this for me because I am stuck.

      Delete
    4. Yes, I found this confusing as well. I didn't have another space at the end of the row to do a DC2TOG, so I undid it and when I ch3 and turned, I used that ch3 space as my first hole.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ack. sorry for the misspelled words.. did it from my cell and .. well.. autocorrect you know. but the question should be : is it understood that I should chain 4 for the trc or do I just go from a sc into a trc in the same stitch. thx.

    1. It's written so that you start in the same stitch as the chain. But I'm going to try something different next time. I'm going to count the chain 3 as a stitch because on one side if the cover there are sort of rounded ends where the other side does not. It's because of the ch 3 plus dc.

  72. Looks like a lovely pattern. Thank you so much. I'm wondering though, for the 1st row, at the end, wouldn't it be chain 4 and turn?

  80. Good day,
I'm slightly confused as to what to do here:
Row 3: sc 1 in every st across, fasten off

(count in 16 stitches from the right on last row worked and attach yarn with a ss in the same st)

Please can someone explain to me
